    Each year it celebrates something local, in 2016 it was the Alum industry. It's on the beach on bonfire night.

    Saltburn-by-the-Sea

    Smugglers & chariots

    When the tide is out, it is possible to walk along the beach to Saltburn. Walk in the Valley & Italian Gardens , discover pretty Victorian buildings, eat fish & chips on the Pier.

    Art & fossils

    Just down the coast, Roxby Beck runs through Staithes, It is the border between the Borough of Scarborough and Redcar and Cleveland. The village is famous for art, geology & still maintains a fishing fleet.

    Gisborough Priory

    Pretty ruin

    Less than 7 miles away, the ruins of this priory in the Tees valley are dominated by the dramatic skeleton of the 14th century church's east end, an outstanding example of early Gothic architecture.
